Center Hill Lake was formed when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completed Center Hill Dam on the Caney Fork River in 1948, part of the Cumberland River system of dams built for flood control and hydroelectric power. Fed by cold, clear tributaries and ringed by steep limestone bluffs, it's one of middle Tennessee's most scenic reservoirs — prized for boating, striper and smallmouth fishing, and hidden waterfalls.
